New favorite

Kade and I love to find a really good tv show/ movie together. It's kinda of our thing. He has microwave popcorn, I air pop mine we curl up in the couch and watch!

We also really only watch history related TV shows; some of our favorites are.....

Copper
Call of the Midwife ( Hayley)
Hell on wheels( mostly Kade)
Merlin
Turn

But our favorite right now is BBC's  the Muskateers. We are only in season one but it is so good! Each episode is an hour long. We really enjoy the new twists!

Yep, it's spelled wrong in the search bar:)

Anyways! If you like history related it's really good!

Separately we watch very different shows. I like intrigue, investigation, something a solid story line and Kade likes cars, history, and instructional videos.

Baby Bailey!

oh my goodness, this all still feels so surreal!

So the story. ( if this is over-sharing to anyone, I completely understand)  In the beginning, November, I swore up and down I was pregnant. I just knew it. So when I tested and it came back negative, I had a complete meltdown. As in I did not leave the house let alone our bedroom ( it was a Sunday). We had been doing a few rounds of fertility drugs( femara) and this was the first cycle I got excited about.  Its been a large blessing to us to be able to see the effects of the drugs working on my body. We have tried to be level headed about the whole thing and not get overly excited, with my health we had no clue what to expect. So I had a doctor's appointment set up for the 17th. So I went in and had an ultrasound. There was an egg in my right ovary and something in my left they weren't sure about. So I rescheduled to come back in January to get everything checked out again. My doctor pulled me off the fertility drugs and my thyroid medication until I had my thyroid ultrasound in a couple of weeks. I have a nodule on my thyroid, {have a had a biopsy on it since more about that later.}.

So we went to Thanksgiving and I felt the infamous nausea for the first time and blamed it on eating too much. I told my parents about the thyroid issues and life went on. We came back and that Monday morning, I woke up drove Kade to class and on the way home I thought about my doctors appointment and thought to myself ," hmm I should take a pregnancy test. "( the spirit totally prompted me!) So I took the test. I set it down on the counter and turned on the shower, laid out my clothes, and came back in. When I saw it was positive, I froze completely! Then I sat down and cried. Once my brain kicked back into gear, I ran out and bought a bunch of little items to tell kade about when I brought him home from class.

Since it was Dec. 1st I gave Kade an earlyChristmas gift. One thing Kade always teases me about is the baby whether boy or girl would love cars and motorcycles as much as he does... hence the hot wheels.

we shared a really sweet moment before he went to work.

Anyways we saw baby bailey for the first time on Wednesday Dec 17th. It was an incredible experience to see Kade see the baby and to see its little heartbeat. What a miracle Heavenly father has blessed us with. A true miracle and we have thanked him everyday since.

baby is due july 18th 2015.

In May...

So we have taking rides on the motorcycle lately. We have found all these fun gorgeous little places. I fell in love with this little spot in Sugar!
Apparently there is one restaurant in Sugar and it's actually quite good!
I splurged on this darling dress from LulaRoe. I'm obsessed with how comfy and easy it is!

And of course happy belated Mother's Day to mommy!

We have been on so many adventures around the world together! England, Mexico surf camp, Greece, Turkey, Hawaii, and all the ones in between!

Flowers

For my birthday... Last year ( I know I am really slow) my mom gave me these adorable pots and seed packages. Every pot has a flower painted on them and matching seed package the same color with matching illustration from the pot!

This is only half of them, but I am so excited to have 12 blooming flower plants here in the next 6 weeks to adequately welcome spring!

Here they are three days after my birthday!

Poor Kitty

So Audrey was fixed and declawed( front only)

It's been a horrible expirence.
We will see when we can finally take her cone off if this was worth it....

They kept her overnight and she chewed out all her stiches but one.. So they put her under again and re-did all of them the very next day. Then taped up her little paws... This is the first night we brought her home... it was a LONG night.

She was so sick and tired all she wanted was to lay on us and sleep.   Since then, she managed to get the cone off once, chew out a stitch, bleed all over the carpet, and go back to the vet and have it super glued.

So some of the funny parts about this expirence:
  • She HATES the vet... like they had to trick her out of her kennel by leaving the door open for her to escape, dumped her in a plastic bag, and put her out in the bag because she had bit them, scratched them, hissed at them and tried to attack them.  When she see the vet she instantly bares her teeth and hisses at him. It so funny because she has never done this to anyone else. It is like she is possed.
  • She looks like dracula in her cone staring at you...
  • She drags her cone agaisnt the door to get your attention
  • She has to back up like a car to get around corners

Her paw after she chewed out the stitch.... massive!
Anyways, she gets treated like a kid around here, because I can and I want to. She is named after a TV show character and movie star. Anyone who thinks we gave her a normal name for any other reason, obviously doesn't know us that well.

She is slowly returning to her normal self and jumping into things she shouldn't. Which makes me a happy camper.
So glad this little adventure is almost over!

what's new?!

What's new around here!?

Our address.... We live in Idaho.

I mean, "I am so excited to be here!"

Our schedule.... I work full time and Kade's in School full time

Our weather... Freezing... literally all the time... so bad they truck snow out of parking lots because it never melts and it takes up parking spots. Believe you me, those spots are like gold around here.. so truck out the snow by all means.

Our clothing... jackets, jackets, add some long sleeves and socks, then one more warm layer..... basically we look like snow people, half frozen and miserable. ( never been more grateful for my automatic start and seat heaters)

The new year.. craziness.... I am still trying to figure out what happen to 2013? Seriously... did I mentally check out? It went by like a wave on the sand... my guess is it was because I did the same thing everyday basically and it all melted into one? Who knows... welcome 2014 let's see what joy you have in store for us.

Our license plates.... little did I know the only thing more humiliating to my CA soul then a UT license plate is my soon to be ID plates... boy those things are ugly! really though,  they always look dirty! Here hoping there is some special edition this year that doesn't have a fish on it or the weird ombre sunset looking thing. ( yes, because this really matters!)

The milage and hours spent in a car in the last two and a half months... I googled mapped it for you your pleasure....

In case your math skills are a bit rusty that would 56 hours and 16 minutes. There are 168 hours a week and we spent a full 2.3 days in a car nonstop, just to get where we needed to. This is not including the 6 hours to burley and back for a funeral... I had to have 2 pictures because google wouldn't let me add any more stops after 12....

Our apartment.. its finally looking like people live here! Still trying to remember where we put everything. It's like an unintentional game of hide and seek with all your personal items.... i.e.
"hayley, where did you put my backpack?"
"uh... not sure.... you could try the second bedroom closet or the box in garage or maybe there is some unpacked black garbage bag somewhere? Good luck!"

In other words, just trying to catch up with life. The holidays were fun and busy. We love our families and spend days in the car to see them whenever we can. We are sad it can't be more often but hey thats life and you just keeping going.

So what's new with you?

Unexpected

Life has been so unexpected for the last month. Seriously! Who can even keep up these days?

I have missed SO many fun little things I would love to post about and don't even have time.

I haven't even gone Christmas shopping yet.

We are consumed with so many blessings, I can't even count them out loud.

Life is good, really good. Just so fast. So gosh darn fast and unexpected.

Promise to post more on everything later. Just wanted to let you all know we are alive, happy and grateful.

October

Yep. I posted once the entire month of October! Sorry about that!

Any ways here are a few things we did!

I decorated for fall! I have these adorable pumpkins that go up and light up!

Then I have this super cute one with table runner from my adorable grandma! { hands down top five best wedding gifts ever!!!} She is seriously the sweetest and each time I pull out one for the season we are in, I get a huge smile on my face and my heart warms up!

She also made this one for the fall

Aren't they adorable!?

Here is the front door to the apartment...

The Sheppard came for conference! And that is always fun! Some how we ended up taking the goofiest pictures!
Bennett at the Pizzeria Galleria in Midway:) yummy!

Jackson at the Walker's. So now every time he calls he looks like he is stuck in my phone:)!
Walker imitating Audrey!
And Kade making a face because I wanted to take a picture.

So we told Audrey she had to be a cat for Halloween. Between smacking her off the bed and keeping her out of the cupboards and not sitting in the chairs she ended up under my maxi skirt, which has now become the norm.

Where she sits when we eat dinner, just tall enough to torture you with the kitty eyes!

We also ate at the Tiki Hawaiian Kitchen. aka the best Hawaiian plate lunch around. If you have come to visit and we haven't taken you there.... I am so sorry. Please come back and we can go!

Kade also took me on a date to get Cheesecake at the Cheesecake Factory. { side note; why does the cheesecake have to be so expensive!?!?} anyways.... I got pumpkin, pumpkin pecan cheesecake. What that means is there is a top layer of pumpkin cheesecake and a bottom layer of pumpkin pecan pie filling then the crust. It was incredible!!!

Halloween we did nothing, we didn't even dress up once or buy candy. I know we are lame but Kade had tons of homework. So my co worker carved this cutie at work, and that was my Halloween.

And last but certainly not least it is fall, and Utah is pretty this time of year.
Ta da that was October!

updates

Yes, I know I have been terrible about updating the blog in the last month and the truth is... I don't really know where the month went. Honestly. This last year went so fast I am not even sure I can take it being fall already. I am sure you have heard this saga from everyone over the years, but I finally get it. It flew by. I understand what they ( usually people older then I) meant when they say," times flies, make it count." So we haven't had much happen by choices, but at the same time, a lot "happened" to us.  It is hard to explain how crazy life can be. We are in the midst of school, work, life and doing our best to make the best of everything we can.

Here are a few pictures for you.
My trinket this year from Swiss days, " Today I will live in the moment... unless it's unpleasant in which case I will eat a cookie." - Cookie Monster

Audrey's favorite thing in the whole world is laundry.

temple days with Lisa:)

Our truck... and most nights we spend in the garage end up looking like this
A reminder to not complain when I think I have it bad.

We woke up one morning to find this on the truck... a note from our kind neighbor informing of the damage that was now on the truck.... Pictured evidence below.

The joys of living at an apartment complex... note: yes we are getting it fixed.

and one more happy picture. the goofball who got herself stuck.

According to my phone we got to hang out with cousins and aunts!

Been to quite a few soccer games...

I have become the crazzzzzy cat lady.
