New favorite

Kade and I love to find a really good tv show/ movie together. It's kinda of our thing. He has microwave popcorn, I air pop mine we curl up in the couch and watch!

We also really only watch history related TV shows; some of our favorites are.....

Copper
Call of the Midwife ( Hayley)
Hell on wheels( mostly Kade)
Merlin
Turn

But our favorite right now is BBC's  the Muskateers. We are only in season one but it is so good! Each episode is an hour long. We really enjoy the new twists!

Yep, it's spelled wrong in the search bar:)

Anyways! If you like history related it's really good!

Separately we watch very different shows. I like intrigue, investigation, something a solid story line and Kade likes cars, history, and instructional videos.

Hawaii: Ziplining and Rest of Trip

We went zip-lining. It was a cool experience, they even had us pull ourselves up at one point... so of course they raced..... super fun!

Love the twins in the helmets... hehehe

So at one restaurant... this poor college girl started hitting on my little brothers and we ended up with a ton of extra scoops of ice cream on our banana bread sundae .... not sure how I feel about having my brothers being hit on... but hey extra ice cream is extra ice cream!

one night we went to the hotel and grabbed a pina colada.. virgin of course!

Most afternoons looked like this... everyone in the pool!

on our drive into Honolulu one night :) LOVE those mountains.. not as pretty as Kauai... haha but close!

Honolulu! I grabbed some jewelry, we went shopping and ate dinner with just the boys. I sure loved getting them to just us one night! wished my parents could have joined us, but they were busy.  I know everyone else loves them, but it was sure fun to just be us on vacation.. a luxury we don't get very often, so I try to soak it up as much as possible.

My Favorite buddy. Stuck by me the whole trip and we had so much getting up early going swimming and snorkeling together!

The last night there, we went to the Polynesian Cultural Center. It was a really cool show! It sure made me miss Connor! The first island they chose was Tonga... and boy it sure pulled at my heart strings! What an amazing experience he is having and I cant wait to see him in December

Thank you again Mom and Dad. We loved spending so much time with you all and we had so much fun!

This is pretty much how I feel all the time! Making Memories with Kade is my favorite!

Hawaii: Sunday walk and drive!

Sunday morning we went for a walk around the hotel, and later that night we went for a drive with Bennett:) super fun relaxing day! Church wasn't even that hot either!

Hawaii: Oahu!

We flew into Oahu on Friday morning. We went straight from picking up the rental cars to Pearl Harbor. It is such a humbling place! It is also super cool when you have a husband who knows more about it then some of the tour guides. He was spouting off all this information, it reminded me what a steal trap his brain is for information he finds useful. He and Walker will always be good friends for their love of war.
So good to see these guys! They keep growing up... it kinda stinks! Soon I will be the shortest child.

in front of the US Maine.
'We took a tour of the Air force Museum and restoration hanger. So cool to see them restoring these old fighters! Kade would name the plane to see if he could get it correct, and I would say he got about 98% correct with out the sign!

We headed out to the Hotel after this! Bucket list item..check!

Food and the good stuff

So here are few tried and loved recipes I thought I would share with you all because they are too good to pass up!

Salsa Chicken Cassarole ( this one is simple easy and takes no prep time. What more could you want?)

Fettuccine Alfredo  ( I am in love with this recipe. We have made it twice in a week. Barbecue some lemon chicken and some garlic bread, seriously could eat this for days. )

Spaghetti Carbonara, (I dropped the garlic. the first time I made it, it over powered the dish. )

Grilled Chicken Veggie Bowl  ( I swapped out the broccoli and quinoa for summer squash/zucchini and peas) With only an hour for lunch and a complete distaste for sandwiches. I try and prep for lunch a head of time, these are a super healthy and yummy option to grab and reheat.)

In my effort to ditch soda... I have been looking for easy drinks to substitute. I gave a girly yelp when I saw this in the freezer isle of Winco a few weeks ago!

Well, other than that life has been good to us these last few weeks. I got over being "sick" which was a complete surprise and took almost a week and a half to get over.

I have Pandora on shuffle at work all the time and love hearing songs that remind me of memories. I was listening to Hootie & the Blowfish, " I'm coming Home" and was transported back to my summers eating T's burritos on the boat in the middle of Lake Tahoe. My dad with his hat on backward, the twins with food all over their faces. Mary Jane, Mom, and Connor all busy with something... probably getting ready to go crawdad fishing with Swedish fish and a safety pin.

Baby Hayley- Fannette Island,Emerald Bay, Lake Tahoe CA

Most days, I hardly pay attention to the music, but lately I seem to be catching memories all over the place. Makes me miss the simplicity of sitting on a boat eating lunch, laughing, and goofing off with family.

I am pretty sure Family is what makes the world go round!

-enjoy the food and take some time to appreciate life!

A little mushy

Okay, getting a little mushy over here for a quick second!

This last weekend Kade went to Boise and had a fun time with family... I on the other had to work and expected a quite relaxing weekend in which I got sick and slept for most of it....

It was also over our anniversary, this sweet man of mine surprised me with flowers and hot tamales ( knows the key to my heart;) ) when he came home! it made everything better and I can't believe he is mine! Love you sweetheart!

Sand Dunes

One of the nights this last week we went out to the sand dunes and rode our 4-wheeler. I am sooo not good it by myself and love to just hold onto to my hubby and ride on the back, less panicking this way! Which means more fun for the both of us!

( sorry still shots from the video! Hence the black)

We also got around to staining our trailer... The color choice was Kade's... Not my fav but it will do!

Love getting to play together every now and then!

Birthday

So because we celebrated my birthday when we went to Disneyland ( because everyone had prior commitments on my birthday) it was a really fun laid back day.

Bennett, Kade, and I were the only ones home all day. We went and grabbed breakfast Burritos at A's that morning. where we saw one of my really good friends!

I played with my puppy for a bit in the morning.

Laid out in the best back yard ever!

The dog joined after a swim in the pool!

Here is a bad panorama of my parents yard.

Then Bennett and I decided to go Surfing! Kade stayed home and did some homework.
We went to San Onofre, where after an hour of riding on my knees I finally caught a wave!

My dad's Response...

My response...

That and the other feat was I still fit in the wet suit I had from high school!

I had so much fun and loved spending my birthday in the water with this guy!

That night after everyone got home, We went to see 3 Days to Kill, which was really funny.

Coming out of the movie I got this!
All the way from tonga!

Came home and opened presents and had birthday cake. We also played this really fun game Called head's up ( it's an app for charades)

( my favorite cake! Baskin Robbins Mint chocolate chip! )

I was so spoiled this weekend! Thank you, thank you, thank you!
